Abstract
Peri-implantitis is an irreversible inflammatory process that causes bone loss around the implant. Causes of early implant failure include pre-function infection, excessive functional load through the mucous membrane, excessive surgical damage, and undiagnosed systemic disease. Late failure may include prosthetic failure, fracture of the fixture, loss of bone fusion, Progressive loss of marginal bone (Harold et al. 1995). This case is a case of reconstruction after removal of fixture in patients with multiple peri-implantitis. We report a case to consider the causes of implant failure, to emphasize the importance of maintenance after the completion of treatment, and to consider implant repositioning and rehabilitation considerations.
